On Saturday 6th February, RM Sports Events are delighted to bring you Bikes & Banter; a fantastic evening with superbike legends Carl Fogarty and Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne. On the night, we will be joined by guest interviewer Matt Roberts, a voice you will recognise from the live MotoGP coverage. We can’t wait for what promises to be an evening filled with bikes, banter and plenty of laughter with two of the best superbike racers of all time. If you know your bikes, you will know this event is NOT to be missed.

SHAKEY BYRNE – In 1999, Shane Byrne made his debut on the British Superbike circuit, the start of a career competing at the highest level of his trade. Often known as ‘Shakey’ he is the only man to win SIX titles collecting 76 wins and 94 podiums along the way.

His first British Superbike Championship came in 2003, closely followed by wins in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017. From career highs to serious injuries, Shakey has been there, done that and got the battle scars.

CARL ‘FOGGY’ FOGARTY MBE – A four-time Superbike World Champion, Foggy had a fantastic career in the sport. His career record of 220 starts, 59 wins and 109 podiums is up there with the best in the business.

Since retiring following an accident in 2000, Foggy has made several TV appearances, enhancing his reputation along the way. A born champion with a never say die and win at all cost’s mentality, Carl was crowned KING of the jungle in the 2014 series of ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here!’

Join expert forensics lecturer Jennifer Rees to explore one of Forensic Psychology’s most troubling topics. During this talk, you will discover how serial killers are classified. What are the differences between lust killers like the BTK (Bind, Torture, Kill) Killer and visionary killers such as David Berkowitz (Son of Sam)?

Jennifer will explore the different categories, using case studies to illustrate. She will also debunk common Serial Killer Myths – you may be surprised by what you learn!

Jennifer will discuss the typical differences between males and female serial killers, again, incorporating case studies to illustrate. You will also investigate the phenomenon of killer couples such as Fred and Rose West and The Moors Murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, as well exploring the Folie à deux syndrome a.k.a ‘shared psychosis’.

Why do women fall in love with known serial killers? Jennifer will discuss the clinical knowledge surrounding why serial killers gain admirers, fan mail, and even spouses in light of their atrocious crimes. Learn about Hybristophilia, and the astounding case of the Night Crawler’s trial.
